WEEK TWO

Tuesday 29 April

Benefits of Butterflies

Discover how these beautiful insects are beneficial in a garden. Observe these winged wonders busy at work. Create a very hungry caterpillar.  Attempt to locate the various stages of a butterfly lifecycle in the gardens at Cruden Farm.

WEEK THREE

Tuesday 6 May

Autumn splendour at Cruden Farm

Locate and name the colours of Autumn. Consider why some trees loose their leaves. Make an autumn-leaf crown.  Toss leaves into the air to be caught by the wind and carried away. Breathe fresh air and enjoy relaxing story time under an old majestic Autumn tree.

WEEK FOUR

Tuesday 13 May

Learn about the lifecycle of ‘fantastic frogs’

What is a healthy environment for frogs? Examine tadpoles at Cruden farm. Make your favourite green and spotty frog with googly eyes made from natural seed pods found on a treasure hunt in nature.

WEEK FIVE

Tuesday 20 May

Wacky water play

Share floating and sinking games. Create a boat that will float on the lake using items found on a wander in nature. Why is water important? Where does it come from?

WEEK SIX

Tuesday 27 May

Navigating natural shelters.

Make a cubby in the gardens using straw, sticks and rocks, just like in the fairytale, ‘The 3 little pigs’. Construct your own ‘banksia pig’ using items found in nature to re-tell this classic fable.
